Let's talk TRANSPORTATION tonight for those of you that are flying in
There are 2 airports within a 3-hour drive of Ocean City, Maryland
Salisbury, Maryland - 40 minutes
Baltimore Maryland - 2 hours, 45 minutes
Salisbury, Maryland (SBY)
The only airline that operates there is American. For reservations, go to www.aa.com or call 1-800-433-7300. Salisbury is very small – you’ll fly from your home airport to only either Philadelphia (PHL) or Charlotte (CLT) then to Salisbury from there on a 50 passenger commuter jet. Your checked bags will be professionally handled throughout your trip, but due to no overhead space in the commuter jets, larger carry-ons will be taken by an employee and put into the baggage area by hand and handed to you when you land in Salisbury. The same when you return – your carry-on will be taken from you in Salisbury, put on by hand and can be reclaimed when you arrive in Philadelphia or Charlotte to complete its journey home with you. Smaller carry-ons such as purses and small backpacks can stay with you and be stored under the seat in front of you.
There are 2 rental car companies inside the airport: Avis & Enterprise.
Shuttle transportation is also available to Ocean City by contacting Frank Purnell in advance. He requires 2 days notice and can be reached at 410-422-1479 or email FWPurnell@gmail.com. He will also pick you up in Ocean City for your return trip home.
Baltimore, Maryland (BWI)
This is a major airport with all airlines as part of their daily operations. They also have all the major rental car companies. Another option is to take the Bayrunner Shuttle from there to Salisbury then contact Enterprise to meet you at the Bayrunner office. Enterprise has two locations in Salisbury that will serve this location
